We know that it can get confusing with different types of albums we can provide you with and variations in size, colour, printing, paper type and quality, amount of possible images and sides, it’s no wonder you might feel overwhelmed when you’re trying to give your customer exactly what they want.

In this blog, we’re going to try to explain which types of albums are more commonly used for different occasions, as well as a whole host of other information to try and make your life easier. And as always, if you have any more questions one of our friendly staff will be more than happy to help.

So without further ado, let’s get down to business!

First up we have Colorworld’s beautiful Renaissance album range. Our Renaissance albums are hand-made by our fantastic craftspeople to the highest possible standards. Renaissance albums are great as wedding albums, as well as for those other once in a lifetime events like baptisms, christenings and remembrance albums. Colorworld Renaissance albums are available in lustre, gloss or metallic printing, or a combination of any of the three to make those special wedding shots really pop.

Artisan albums, also crafted by our on-site tradespeople are an exquisite offering, with the highest levels of both quality and beauty that are sure to stand the test of time. Our Artisan albums combine a stunning array of matted and digitally printed pages to create a beautiful piece. Ideal as a wedding album and ranging in size from 12×9 to 16×12, with a huge range of colour options, any choice from the Artisan range is perfect as the centrepiece to any package.

The Fine Art album gives a new depth to the ever-popular digital album type by using beautiful quality matte fine art paper. This gives exceptional longevity to an album. We don’t recommend you bash around a beautiful keepsake, but if you do happen to drop it, a Fine Art album is strong enough to survive. They’re great as wedding albums, for christenings, collections of portraits, boudoir shoots… In fact, they’re pretty much ideal for any application. With a huge range of covers and sizes from 7×5 to 16×12 too, you’ll find a fine art album will add to any offer.

Mini albums are next. If the name didn’t give away that they’re smaller than a regular album, I’m not sure how to explain this. They’re a perfect replica of the main album and are perfect gifts for members of the bride or grooms party, or extended family members to remember a special day. They’re even ideal for grandparents wanting a permanent memory of a baby shoot. They’re a great way to create a package for your client and have even been known to lead to add on sales like snow globes, cards and mugs.

Coffee table and Lay Flat albums can cover a wide range of uses. From wedding albums to portfolios or even a short run of self-published artwork books, the beauty, quality and affordability is always a draw. A Coffee Table book allows you to create the perfect personalised cover, with a photographically printed hardback or linen cover that covers the exterior of the book completely. Lay flat books operate under the same principals as a Coffee Table book, but thanks to a new hinge system, the pages lay completely flat. It gives a great, sweeping effect to the album that’s hard to beat.

Colorworld’s Madrid albums offer all the quality and elegance of a digitally printed album for the more budget conscious among us. Each page is covered with a quality repositionable adhesive, meaning you can place your images directly into the album page. Covers feature a stylish wraparound magnetic strip with a silver trip and an aperture available in black or white. To add to that, we’ll even position your prints for you, letting you use your valuable time for taking more photographs!

We have one last album type and I’ll keep it brief, I promise. Lifestyle albums are a really contemporary offering. With thick, robust pages and full digital printing, a Lifestyle album is perfect portrait work, baby albums, boudoir shoots, memories of a special christening day and fantastic lifestyle albums, not to mention a great addition to a wedding bundle.

We know our wide range of albums can be difficult to take in at first glance, so if you need any help please don’t hesitate to contact us.
